FamilyTime’s shelter (The Door) is a place for temporary safe housing as well as the start of the healing process for survivors.
The shelter can be an extremely powerful tool for empowering residents. The Door houses up to 38 survivors (men and women) of family violence and sexual assault and their children in a safe and nurturing environment. The shelter residents receive meals and childcare, as well as counseling, guidance, and other needed services in preparation for transition to a more permanent and stable environment. The Door trains staff to provide day-to-day assistance, referrals for education, legal, vocational, housing, and additional social services to residents.
